September 7th: Never Judge a Book by Its Cover
We’ve all seen those covers where we might cringe or think it’s not “our thing,” but we pick it up anyway because the blurb sounded cool. Sometimes to our surprise, those reads become some of our new favorites! What are some books you’ve picked up and thought you wouldn’t like because of the cover but loved the story?
I do like a beautiful cover, so I mostly looked at books that were plain.
This unassuming cover is filled with powerful poems.
This was a great WWII mystery. The sepia cover just didn’t pop for me, I like color.
This simple cover reminded me of a century old schoolbook. But the true story of the Los Angelos Public Fire was fascinating.
Another simple cover hiding a true story of emotional depth.
This cover doesn’t look like it goes with a fun bakery-themed cozy with paranormal elements.
When Breath Becomes Air is such an appealing cover to me.
I wouldn’t have guessed that the princess saves herself in this one was poetry!
